Now that we have some chants and songs cemented for 2011, this is the thread for suggesting new ideas!

First thing I would like to suggest is a "No place worse" chant for each of the teams we play this year. To keep things from getting stale.

we just change the last city depending on who we play.  Otherwise, it always starts with "There's no place worse than the City of Miami..."

always.  :)

:) Yeppers - we did this chant at every game last season, changing the city in the chant... A Mob classic!

Just a personal opinion of the chants:

1) I dont like the chants for opponent players who had previously had ties to an MLS team, i.e. "Red Bull Re-Ject!"...We have players with former MLS ties, so I just am not a fan

2) I also dont like chants that the people we're chanting at may have no idea what it means. Example: I think it was the Timbers game we were chanting 1976 referencing beating them for the championship (team/year may be off, but my point remains),,,do we think their players/coaches/half the fans in the stadium had any idea what it meant? Do we think our players did?

Outside of those two constructive criticisms, i love everything.

no rope and tree chant....our coach will dislike that. ;)

We are also going to stop doing the dumb as hell "You suck Asshole" chant during opposing keeper goal kicks.  Basically, if we are already doing a chant or song when a goal kick, or any other free kick taken by the keeper, is awarded we will NOT STOP to do the standard "you suck" thing.

Even if no chant is going on at the time, don't do it.  Just ughghgh

Can we go English and go with "You fat bastard! Ahahahahahahahahah"

It's what I put instead of you suck asshole on the post.

How about you suck insert GK name, we did that last year.

I'd really, really prefer we didn't do it at all. We talked about it at the last mob meeting and the consensus is that it's better that we just keep on doing whatever song/chant we were doing.  Stopping to start a new thing during goal kicks  that doesn't even sound awesome just doesn't make sense.

Interesting, I thought that was a standard thing to do among supporter groups, no? From the people I talked to, they thought this was the best part of the game! Only for when the opposing keeper was in front of us of course.

Ok that's cool. Starting with Miami every time was just weird and confusing, in my opinion, but I understand the reasoning. However, I'm more talking about the insult at the very very end. "The cesspool of the South" was what we threw at Austin if I remember correctly. I was thinking it would be cool for that last insult to be unique for every team we play. Like having something more fun to sing at Orlando fans like "worst sports town in America" or "Mickey cheers better than you do" as examples.

That's the thing, it's become just a standard Americanized thing to do, to the point it's overdone. Every keeper expects to hear "you suck asshole" to the point that it doesn't bother them anymore. I'd argue that it's probably still effective when the US plays someone, as their opponents wouldn't be used to it. I would like to continue our chants if we're in the middle of one as well.
