I like those as well Jared. Solid job.

Thanks, guys. And feel free to improve on them. Some of them don't roll off the tongue as well as I'd like.

An amendment for the "Strikers win a Cup":

Have you ever seen the Strikers win a cup?

Have you ever seen the Strikers win a cup?

No I haven't seen the Strikers,

No I haven't seen the Strikers,

No I haven't seen the Strikers win a cup!

The Don Garber chant is one we have sung before. Completely forgot about it!

or are understandable across the stadium

We did sing the Don Garber chant the last time we were down there, but it was sort of a spur of the moment, "hey, let's try this," where, even by the end of the song, we still had a few that weren't catching on and singing. I just posted it here in the hope that the people going on the road trip will check out this thread and try to get some of the lyrics down for tomorrow.

And don't worry about them being understood across the stadium. Even if we sang the ABCs, that lot would have a hard time figuring it out. They'd just look confused and go back to banging on their drums.

First of all, love these. Practice em this weekend so the entire stadium can hear us on the 24th!

Unfortunately, we may have to stop taking the piss at em for not winning a cup. In 1988, the Strikers reformed and joined the American Soccer League. Even worse, they won the playoffs of that league in 1989, a year that the Rowdies were still around (and even in this league). But then again with their poor attendance record post NASL days, can anyone actually say they've seen the Strikers win a cup? And this league apparently was barely even professional. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fort_Lauderdale_Strikers_(1988-1994)

After arguing back and forth with myself while writing this, I've come to conclude that the Strikers haven't won a legitimate cup since it wasn't in the NASL. Carry on as if they haven't won one.

For our trip down to Lockhart this weekend, I have a couple of suggestions that we might add to our repertoire:

Thank you, sir.

Yeah, they won the ASL championship and beat the WSL team for the national championship, so yes they have won a title. But I doubt most of their lot know anything about that. Besides, we have the star on our shirts. Where's theirs? :-)

ol-e *puase* ol-e *shorter pause* ol-e *even shorter pause* FC TAMPA BAY

at each pause we all do the hands up and facing out or hold up scarves with claps after the ol-e's

So i guess no more FC Tampa Bay in our chants.....

Anyone mind starting a 2012 Song and Chant Suggestion thread?  Stephen?

We'll still dig through this one for ideas, and if you had an idea in this thread that you want to be considered feel free to post it again in the new thread.
