But IMO it is a clean slate starting now. They've rekindled the buzz that we were seeing leading up to the home opener two seasons ago and we are officially the Rowdies as was originally planned.
So if they roll out a really effective campaign and can keep this buzz going, then all will be forgiven as far as I'm concerned.

Permalink Reply by Jared Selph on December 21, 2011 at 10:08am Charlie, Steve, Garrett or anyone else: How much of the timing of this deal was due to the new USL team starting next year? I wonder if the fear of this new group stealing the Rowdies name out from under them drove them to make the deal now. Can you guys confirm this?
Permalink Reply by Charles Cole on December 21, 2011 at 12:21pm All I can say is that Garrett and I were aware months ago of a time frame which included the team getting the trademark by the end of the year if everything went well. I can only assume that the USLpro news gave them more urgency, but no idea if it played any other significant role.
