PR wins the first and only USSF Div 2 championship
Suprised no one has given props to our Ponce de Leon Cup foes the Islanders make history and win the only chmpionship that league will ever have since it is now NASL and USL Pro.

It's hard to imagine that after winning the D-2, and after the incredible success they had in CCL qualifying, the Islanders would lose to a local USL Pro squad. Maybe this wasn't the best lineup for the Islanders on that night playing?

It wasn't. I believe they field a team of reserves who are mainly based locally. Notice Nicholas Addlery and Bill Gaudette were not in the lineup.

Yeah I did notice that and it's actually why I asked the question, LOL! Still sucks though. Hopefully the natives all knew it was a scrap team............ (for attendence sake, which I know isn't a terrible problem there, but still.......)
